Advent- Reign of the Branch

Bible Marginalia- #36

First Sunday of Advent
Beginning of the New Church Year

One of the Readings in worship was Isaiah 11:1-2

"There shall come forth a shoot
 from the stump of Jesse
and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit,
and the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him."

Our church celebrates with BLUE
  as the Liturgical color
 for the ADVENT season.
The beginning of the liturgical year.
This time of the church year signifies-
HOPE.

It is a time of waiting and preparing.
Preparing for His second coming.

A Jesse tree with ornaments might
show some of the people and objects
that help to illustrate
the story of Old Testament prophecy
 tied to New Testament fulfillment.
