Pentecost

Acts 2:1-12

So much waiting, 

not knowing what for.

• a sound from heaven like a mighty rushing wind
• filled the entire house where they were sitting
• divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them
• filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance
• others were bewildered
• a group of devout Jews from every nation under heaven heard them speaking in their own language
• they were amazed and astonished
• they were speaking of the mighty works of God i their own tongues
• all were amazed and perplexed

Somehow when I hear that this first Pentecost

 caused people to be amazed, perplexed, 

astonished and bewildered it is comforting.

That is often how I feel in trying to sort out

 the working of the Holy Spirit.

I don't have to have the answers.

What a great reassurance  that is...

Now I can be astonished, amazed,

 perplexed, and bewildered-

and just TRUST.

The gift of eternal life-

Concordia University Alumnus Award- 2021

 

We gathered in Ann Arbor, Michigan

 on May 9, 2021 for a very special event.Husband John was given the 2021 Alumnus Award 

at the Concordia University, Ann Arbor,

 Commencement ceremony.

John was a 1974 grad and I was a 1975 grad.

The Commencement was held with all of the protocols

 in place for the COVID pandemic.

They were thrilled to have an

 in-person gathering this year.

Son- in Law- Joshua Schumacher (L) nominated John.

He serves as the Head football coach at CUAA.

These guys get to hang out 

and do life together in Washtenaw County.

Fun to celebrate this special day 

with you all and your littles.

For we have a great victory by faith.

We have overcome the world.

We are in the process of 

overcoming the world as we live out

 our days here on earth.

"Everyone that believes that Jesus is the Christ

 has been born of God,

and everyone who loves the Father 

loves whoever who has been born of him."

 How do we as believers overcome the world?

Every believer is an overcomer 

and is victorious because they have eternal life

 in Christ Jesus, 

and we can claim this abundant life NOW.
