Worship into the Week- Giver of Life

Worship into the Week-Epistle Reading
1 Corinthians 15:21-26, 30-42
The Resurrection of the Dead

The Corinthian saints had begun
to doubt the reality of the Resurrection.
Paul is laying out his case of explanation.
He reasoned that if Jesus Christ
had not risen from the dead,
then all the witnesses of His Resurrection were false.
There would be no reason in preaching the Gospel.
Paul wanted to remind the Corinthian church that
the belief in resurrection
is the foundation of Christian's faith.
Without this- the Truth slips away,
and the believer forfeits his faith in Jesus.
All other foundations crumble away
without the simple fact that Jesus rose from the dead.
And- we will too upon His return.

2-22-22

Luke 2
I have been thinking a lot
about the town of Bethlehem
since our time there this past January 2022.
A town of no prominence.
Changed forever with a story of a baby,
 shepherds and angels.
There are very few signs left
in this city of that amazing event.
Very few Christians even live there anymore.
This little town of David,
beheld the greatest event in all of time.
Today it doesn't mark the passing of days
on a calendar that marks the years since this birth.
A palindrome marks this day,
marching along one after another.
How do we set out to mark the days
that turn on the calendar pages?
That we don't forget this birth
that changed an entire world for all time.
Feb. 22, 2022 is written out numerically
as 2/22/22.
Not only is it a palindrome because
it reads the same forward and backward,
but what makes it special is the date has all twos.
It will also be the same no matter
what part of the world you're in,
regardless of whether your country
uses the day-month-year
or year-month-day-format.
It's TWOSDAY.
But, what I want to remember today
is that because of that baby,
shepherd and angel story-
we have HIS  STORY for all of history.

A Bit of Heart

Somewhere along the line I fell in love with Valentines.
Maybe it has something to do with
a birthday that falls the day before.
Doesn't matter anymore-
as I have been and still am- all out for hearts,
and all the sentimental trappings.
Vintage postcards, German 3-D cards,
handmade collages, doilies, crochet-edged hankies,
and even my grade school Valentines.
I'll take it all and it brings delight
right up till Spring is unveiled.
Enjoy the trappings of the heart.
A mini quilt made 35 years ago, a button card
and a handprinted wood circle made by a friend.
A mixed media collage project.

Made in Germany- 3 D cards
The tissue paper on these is pretty delicate
and to preserve them, I display them standing flat.

A favorite neutral decor flat canvas
that I made a few years back.
A great vintage book.
A great reminder of why Valentine's day
is such a reminder that Jesus is Love.

Key to my Heart.
Valentines saved from my grade school friends.

A collection of favorite Valentine pieces
 brought together  in collage.
Heart florist vases and a bit of hand crochet lace.

Our Hearts take hold on thee.
Valentine spoolies, old postcards and some
ceramic lace hearts from a daughter's wedding.
Always fun to see the hearts come together.
Hope you have a sentimental journey
 this Valentines's Day!

Levi is Six!

                           We were blessed to celebrate

birthday # 6 this week with Mr. Levi.

A fun new game to play.
What fun! A Wizard's jersey, WWE Coloring book,
a roaring dinosaur head and a Dinosaur lego kit.
Draw and Doodle sure looks like fun.
Opening gifts with a standby helper
and trying out some of the new things. Yea!
Certainly can't go wrong
with cupcakes, frosting and sprinkles!
Have a blessed new year of being Super 6!

Worship into the Week-Give Thanks

Worship into the Week-

Psalm 138- Give Thanks to the Lord

David shares here some of the things

that are brought under the realm of our eternal God.

As we sit in a humble posture of acknowledging that-

may the Lord be exalted.

We sing of His Glory as we walk in the midst of trouble,

and our lives are preserved.

I will cling to your steadfast love
 that endures forever.
And give thanks.

Israel Pilgrimage 7- The Rooster Crows

It always takes me a few days to fit together

all of the pieces from a trip to Israel.

I use this small Bible from

Zondervan as my travel Bible.and journaling.

Journal-Testament-Pocket-

This section is from John 18:19-28-

when Jesus was with Caiaphas the high priest.

These ancient steps date back to the time of Jesus

and may have been the very steps

he walked up to the house of Caiaphas.

A church stands here to mark the spot of Peter's denial,

the crowing of the rooster

and where Jesus spent part of his last night.

There are a couple of caverns, pits, or holding cells

where Jesus may have been dropped down

while they waited to "deal with him."

Always a moving spot to read Psalm 88.

I have visited this place and the

Church of St. Peter of Gallicantu seven times.

The time frame has been early morning, late morning,

and late afternoon.  Each time

while I stood by this statue, I have heard the rooster crow.

This rooster may be strategically placed

to be near this spot, but I am reminded nonetheless.

I can remember my frustration as a young believer

that Peter just seemed like he couldn't get things right.

Now, I am reminded how much I am like Peter.

How many times I need forgiveness

for failing to be a witness for Jesus.

How many times I was silent

when I could have spoken up to bless His name.

How many times I have been offered

grace and forgiveness and restored.

This reminder happens for me now-

anytime and anywhere- I hear the rooster crow.

Worship into the Week- The Way of Love

Worship into the Week -

 The Way of Love

Hearts Together- hung on a cross of love.

So many ways to see how the verses of 1 Corinthians 13

outline a path for living out the pattern of Jesus as the

Greatest Love.

Hearts tied together to show that we are

all connected to the ONE WAY.

Living out the marks of love:

patient, kind, humble and kind.

Truthful, hopeful and enduring.

All hung with love on a cross- for you

and for me.

2-2-22

2-2-22
Tonight I joined an online Zoom Bible study using this

resource from Visual Faith Ministry.

We published this as part of the Movable event

and it is available on Amazon.

God-Change- Carolyn Bira

We spent time looking at Romans 12:1-2.

Writing it out and sharing insights.

Transformed by the renewing of your mind.

"For the weapons of our warfare

are not of flesh but have divine power

 to destroy strongholds."

2 Cor 4:5

Noting this date of 2-2-22 and blessed

to share time in the Word with friends today.

It will be another hundred years till another 2-2-22.

I will be long gone and in heaven by then.

May the Lord bless time spent in the Word-

today and in the years to come.
