Lainey Ella is 2!

                                             

                                          This little sweetie- Lainey Ella 

                      recently celebrated her second birthday.

 She is the youngest of the #dengrandloves.

She is bubbly, babbling, 

inquisitive and quite capable.

And... she knows how to use her smile.

 another Ellie for day care, try on a new outfit.

A fun new kitchen set and all are interested.

It has running water! Oh my!

A precious family gathers

 to hold all that is dear.

Heavenly Father, 

send grace and protection to sweet Lainey

as she grows in the Kingdom as your daughter.

Anniversary Blessings- 41 years

 

This August marks 41 years

 of marriage for John and I.

An Anniversary toast celebrating all

 of God's rich blessings in our life.

More than we can count, more than

we are even aware of in our lives.

John and I met when I was in 5th grade

 and he was in 6th grade.

So we have know each other for 58 years.

I try to wrap my head around that sometimes. 

 All the hopes and dreams.

All the challenges and struggles.

The incredible joy and laughter.

Opportunities beyond our imagination.

Watching the hand of God write the story

 of our journey as followers of Jesus.

His goodness and mercy has been part of  

this love story.

May anything in our lives that is good 

be attributed to His Glory.

Hadley Grace is 4!

                     

                          Hadley Grace- Miss Unicorn  

recently celebrated her 4th birthday.

Her family loves to gather round 

and find ways to make it special.

Hadley loves her new unicorn sheets, 

helping out in the kitchen and fancy hair.

Fun gifts included the unicorn theme

and she is the cutest medical assistant.

Some new babies for Hadley Grace.

She takes care of her "real" ones

 and her pretend babies.

The very special friends 

were the sweet cousins who live nearby.

What a special blessing to spend time

 with these grand loves.

Dear Lord, please guard and protect 

Hadley Grace and bless her with good health

 and all of your Goodness.

August in Vintage Grace Gardens

 

The neighborhood is turning

 into a brilliant display of pinks, reds, 

and lavender. 

Every year I am surprised by the display.

 How do I forget from one year to another?

On the front porch there is blooming

 a bromeliad that I have been watching for 5 years.

Hot red is the color of this sun impatient- 

just setting fire to a pot of blooms.

So many pretty flowers 

to view in the garden in August.

I deadheaded the phlox 

and it is back again.

The hydrangea are showing off.

But, I know by the night sounds 

that summer is waning.

That is a bit sad, of course.

Bloom well dear plants, bloom well.

The days are getting shorter.

Romans 9: 1-5 (6-13)

"But it is not as though 

the word of God has failed. 

For not all who are descended from Israel 

belong to Israel, and not all are children of Abraham

 because they are his offspring,

but "Through Isaac shall your offspring be named."

This means that it is not the children of the flesh who

are the children of God, but the children 

of the promise are counted as offspring.

Thank you, Lord for preparing a way for 

me to be a daughter of the promise. Amen

Jesus uses parables to speak wisdom 

and truth into His Kingdom revealed.

"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure 

hidden in a field, which a man found 

and covered up. 

Then in his joy he goes 

and sells all that he has and buys that field."

Worth everything.

More than we can imagine.

Beyond understanding.

We know the treasure.

Jesus and life in Him.
