Holy Saturday

My childhood Easter Basket
has faded to red and a green-black color.
Not normal Easter colors -
and I can't remember what this originally looked like.

I added a "found" nest in the yard.
 Added eggs.
 Some spaghnum moss.
Some fabric strips with burlap threads for  a bow.

And Easter waits around the corner.
Light.  Hope. Promise.

Through centuries of telling the story.
God breaking into history.
And changing all of our futures
-with the gift of His Son Jesus.

Though our own lives often look faded-
Easter brings us New Life color.
