Isaiah 61: 1-4, 8-11
The Year of the Lord's Favor
Isaiah reveals the message of God as Good News
to the poor, downtrodden,
to those who are broken hearted and mournful.
The blessing of the message of freedom to those
imprisoned by these challenges is a great gift.
When lives are on the ash heaps
of ruin and personal failure,
God has a plan to turn these situations
into something beautiful.
This section of Scripture is what Jesus
read in the synagogue in Nazareth.
It so angered the people that they wanted to kill him.
They knew this part of Scripture so very well.
God has a restoration plan.
Hold on- their is a redemption promise.
He is coming back to take me home.
