 Devotional Journaling- 

set up for our recent Greece and Turkey tour.

I added Scripture references when that applied.

Paul Speaks to the Ephesian Elders

Acts 20:17-38

Paul is working to let the leaders 

know in Ephesus that there

 is a lot of hard work to lead well.

They must pay careful attention.

Be alert.

"I commend you to God and to the 

Word of His true Grace which is able to

 build you up and to give you the inheritance

 among all those who are sanctified." verse 32

A good reminder for all leaders in the church.

Worship into the Week-

1 Corinthians 10:1-13

Warning Against Idolatry

Paul speaks plainly to the Corinthians.

They lived in a world of many, many temptations.

(Just like us.)

Jesus was tempted in every way

 that each of us has been tempted.

But, he provides a way out- an escape.

He provides a way to endure it.

It is a slippery slope when we lean into idolatry.

 No matter what we set up as an idol in our lives.

Remember that He will not let you

 be Tempted beyond your ability.

But, you must lean on His strength and 

not your own ability.

After visiting Corinth yesterday, my mind

 is overwhelmed with new understandings

 for Paul's letter to the Corinthians.

But, that will be in more blog posts to come.

Philippians 3:17-4:1

Straining Toward the Goal

Paul speaks here to encourage

 believers to imitate him,

as he imitates Jesus.

Many don't follow Jesus, or imitate Him.

They are enemies of the cross.

Destruction awaits them 

with their minds set on earthly things.

But, our citizenship is in heaven.

Jesus will transform our lowly bodies

 into a glorious body like his own body. 

His power will reign over all.

God is about His mission here on earth.

A birthday handshake with Papa seals the deal.

Oh Fun!

A bat like big brother Levi- cool!

A birthday outing to a Wizards game.

That's a big boy event!!!!

We love you Mr. Isaiah-

and pray the Lord's blessings

 on your new birth year!

Worship into the Week-

The Message of Salvation to All

Romans 10: 8b-13

"The word is near you, 

in your mouth and in your

heart."

The Good News for all of us is that 

"there is no distinction between Jew and Greek;

for the same Lord is Lord of all, 

bestowing his riches on all who call on him."

Justified-

declared or made righteous in the sight of God.

"Just as if" I had not sinned. 

God's redemption for me.

"For everyone who calls on

 the name of the Lord will be saved."

Confess that Jesus is Lord and believe 

that He rose from the dead-

and you will be saved.

The simple truth for a complicated world.

devotional journaling posting.

"For our sake he made him to be sin 

who knew no sin, 

so that in him we might become

 the righteousness of God.

Praying that this Lent may be a

favorable time to ponder our 

day of salvation.

May we as servants of God commend

 ourselves in every way by great endurance.

Epistle Reading Hebrews 3:1-6

Jesus Greater than Moses

I would imagine I have read 

this section of Scripture multiple times.  

This time I kept coming back to-

Consider Jesus.

How does Jesus fit into all the places of my life?

What changes on a daily basis 

when I fix my eyes on Jesus?

Where are the spots that I veer off

 course and go my own way?

Christ is faithful over God's House.

  We are his house.

We must hold fast our confidence and 

stay firm till the end.
