Papa and Gigi Camp

We had a plan for our 2 days with the 7 Michigan Grandloves

 at Papa and Gigi Camp.

It took us two days to complete. Here is a bit of the story.

New big coloring books- Mandalorian and Paw Patrol

and new crayons were a hit.

Playdough creations were super fun

 for the "older ones."

Our ages were- 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, and 3 months.

Papa traced them on the driveway

and then they tried to match the color of

their clothes with sidewalk chalk.

Creation Stations found great pairings with partners.

This wasn't on our plan but this little guy

had only one place he wanted to be.

We made lots of silly faces.

We made some Thanksgiving tags for our garlands.

They gathered treasures on their Adventure Walk.

They loved putting together

 BIG floor puzzles.

Fort Cozy was the perfect spot to read books with Papa.

Always room for one more.

We spent lots of time snuggling this cutie.
We made a plan for the 2 days.

We started each day with a family meeting sharing
the behaviors we were looking for that day.
We were watching and listening.
"Awards" by proclamation
were given at the end of each day.

It was fun to hear them point out
 behavior notations for each other.
So how did we get to do camp?
Mom Jessica was presenting at an
Educators's Conference and out of town.
Mom Laura went back to work after her maternity leave
and her childcare person was out of town.
Dad Joshua was prepping for his second game
in the NAIA football playoffs and headed to Iowa.
Dad Daniel was working long hours as an athletic trainer
at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
We were certainly blessed to spend
 this time with our
Michigan grand loves.

November Roundup

O Favors, every year made new.
O Gifts, with Rain and Sunshine sent.
The Bounty overruns our due
The fullness shames our discontent.
Glimpses and Gleanings
from around our home.
And the home of Michigan daughters
 on our visit there.
We give thanks with a grateful heart,
for all the Lord's provision.
The Lord has showered us
 with so many blessings.
In Everything Give Thanks.

Thanksgiving Blessings- 2021

Thanksgiving Day- November 25, 2021
Philippians 4:4-8

Lots to think about for
our day of giving thanks.
Especially how this is to be our
posture EACH and EVERY day.
Bringing our prayers and supplications to God
with Thanksgiving for our God who HEARS US.
We are trusting that this Peace of God
is beyond anything our minds can comprehend.
This power will guard our hearts
and our minds in Christ Jesus.
May we then think about GOOD Things,
and pursue the honorable, pure and excellent.
So may our hearts be thankful.

Worship into the Week- Encourage

Worship into the Week-
Hebrews 10:19-25
The Full Assurance of Faith

Some familiar phrases here:
"...let us draw near with a true heart
 in full assurance of faith."

"Let us hold fast then confession of our hope
without wavering, for he who promised is faithful."

"...let us consider how to stir up one another
to love and good works,
not neglectingto meet together,
as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another
and all the more as you see
 the Day drawing near."

Great words to encourage us
 in the journey of faith.

Bible Marginalia- the Light of Life

Bible Marginalia-

I Am the Light of the World

John 8:12-30

Jesus was stating things pretty clearly

here about who He was and who affirmed that- His Father.

Jesus said... "I have been telling you from the beginning."

But, they didn't want to hear it then

and they didn't want to hear it now.

They hearts were closed and they walked in darkness.

Anytime I am in deep darkness,

I search and search for the light.

How wonderful when that pierces the darkness,

 and I can see again.

And see for eternity.

And this light makes everything

different in the here and now.

Jesus. It is Jesus- the LIGHT.

Thanksgiving Garland 2021

The 2021 Meier tags for the Thanksgiving Garland

The garland idea was a great Keep the Faith project
that began about 10 years ago.
It started out with leaves, Bible verses and gratitude lists.
  Then the grandchildren started coming,
so I began to add a photos for them for each year
and a few words of just what they are doing for each year.

Then more grandchildren came along the way.
I saw that busy mamas- and busy working mamas of littles-
would have NO TIME to make the tags
for each of their own family garlands.

The 2021 Schumacher Tags for the Thanksgiving Garland

So. I asked the mamas for 2 favorite photos of each child,
a family photo and one with just the kiddos.
I make the tags for each family and leave a space
for moms to add a note about each child.
I also added some Scripture verses
from the Thanks verse project by Sally Beck
 from Visual Faith Ministry.
It may have been more of an art project ten years ago,
but now it is assembly line and get them done.
No need to add much more embellishment
 than some Distress ink.
The 2021 Wilson Tags for the Thanksgiving Garland

Each family adds their own tags
 to their growing tag garland.
The kids love looking at the photos
from year to year with laughs and giggles.

The grownups can't believe how quickly the changes
are happening in the little families.

I make a set for our own Thanksgiving garland.
I put the 2 photos of each child
on one tag- front and back.
I added a heart tag that tells a bit
about them THIS YEAR.
Another tag for each family has parents
and children on one side and just the kids on the other.

SO many blessings- and an expanding
fatter and fatter garland is a very good thing.

so great for a group event)

Bible Marginalia- Walk in Love

                                               Bible Marginalia- Walk in Love

Ephesians 5:1-2

"Therefore be imitators of God,
as beloved children.
And walk in love,
as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us,
a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God."

This relationship is special-
that we are called the children of God.
We have the most wonderful gift of model
and invitation.
Our response?
Walk in love..
just follow that- one step after another.

Worship into the Week- Church Triumphant

Worship into the Week
A Great Multitude from Every Nation-

 Revelation 7: 2-8, 9-17

The Church Triumphant

v. 10 "Salvation belongs to our God

who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!"

v 15-17 "Therefore they are before the throne of God,

and serve him day and night in his temple;

and he who sits on the throne will shelter them

 with his presence.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;

the sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat.

For the Lamb in the midst of the throne

will be their shepherd,

and he will guide them to sings of living water,

and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

And we look to live forever

  into eternity with Jesus.
