Worship into the Week- Shine Like the Sun

 Worship into the Week-
Shine Like the Sun
Matthew 13

Thinking about growing things and
surely see the weeds in my garden.
Sometimes it is hard to pull the weeds and not
disturb the growing plant.
They need to have strong roots.
Weeds suck life out of "wanted" plants.
All because the Kingdom is corrupted.
Jesus did not use parables to make
difficult things clear to all.
They were spoken to present God's message
so that those with "open ears"-
the spiritually attuned, could understand.
Those with hardened hearts would only hear a story
and add rejection to the pile.
Parables are an example of God's mercy to
those with hardened hearts. At this time it was
the Jewish leaders who were compiling
a mass of rejections to Jesus and His work.
We must pray to have tillable soil to God's Word
and not hardened clay or rock.
For we have this invitation to shine as righteous stars
in the Kingdom of the Father.
What a blessed opportunity.

Vintage Grace Gardens- Late July

Vintage Grace Gardens- Late July
Blooming Hydrangea- getting started.

Loving this juxtaposition in the garden.
Rudbeckia and phlox.

A sea of yellow waving in the breeze.
This fun sunflower and lantana
and begonia in a front yard pot.
Some pink highlights with the loosestrife.
Trying elephant ears in a pot.
The dainty guara in a pot is still going strong.
This beauty looks stunning all summer long.
I am more and more into easy care- Echeveria.
The purple balloon flower
adds some strong color.

Dipledenia - in the Mandevilla family.
These daylilies finished about a week ago.
The crocosmia with the bold red has faded away.

The filipendula with its
feathery pink has drifted away.
The blue purple chaste tree
has reverted back to green again.
I love how the colors always
 keep changing in the yard.
The beauty of a summer garden.

Little Things

Some times it is the very little things in life.
Deadheading flowers and as I was going
to dump them in the trash-
 there was still beauty left.
A tiny brown bottle also rescued from
the recycle bin was the perfect container.
As I set it on the tablecloth,
the rays of sunshine burst from behind
a moving cloud to frame it for just a minute.
I stopped and sat and just looked.
  Soon the light was gone.
But, a photo captured the brief interlude.
Simple joy in tiny things.

Thank you Lord, for little things.
The details that you place daily
in front of me and I so often miss.
Thank you for the few times I capture them
and enjoy these small bits of blessing.
Amen.

Worship into the Week- Child of God

Worship into the Week- Child of God
Romans 8 :12-17
Heirs with Christ

Since we are led by the Spirit of God
we are "sons"of God.
We do not live in slavery and fear,
 but as children who cry
 "Abba Father!".
Our story is different because
the Spirit bears witness with our Spirit
that we are children of God.
Therefore we are heirs of God
and fellow heirs with Christ.
This might include suffering,
that we may be glorified with Him.
We are adopted into an eternal life inheritance
 because of this relationship.
Thank you, Lord for this gift.

Worship into the Week- Rescue Me

Worship into the Week- Romans 7:14-25a

"Who will deliver (rescue) me
from this body of death?
Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord."
So it is known that nothing
good lives in me in my sinful nature,
I want to do the right things
and then I chose something else.
This is the "missing the mark" of every long day.
Nothing in my power changes that dilemma.
Only the grace and power of Jesus
changes the story.
 Thanking God every day
for this new ending to my story.

Worship into the Week- The New Way

Worship into the Week-Romans 7:1-13
Released from the Law
The Law and Sin

We have been set free from
the law in order that we may
serve in the new way of the Spirit.
So many things have changed because of Christ
who was raised from the dead
and we belong to him in order
that we may bear fruit for God.
There is a new way of life,
and we have been invited.

Scripture Doodles- June 2023

Scripture Doodles- June 2023
not really sure ho we are half way
 through the year already.
This way of tracking days and weeks and months
certainly keeps a tab on clock.
But, it doesn't slow it down.
This month certainly had me looking
 at mercy and grace again.

Always more people to pray for on my lists.
Always situations that seem
out of control or just plain awful.
Always my God who does not leave me-
anytime, anywhere, or in the middle of
anything.
That's worth a note to remember.
