Worship into the Week- Eyes of Faith

Worship into the Week-
Luke 22: 38
Jesus Presented at the Temple

An honorable Jewish family
 keeping the Law.
Jesus was a first born son,
so there was a sacrifice in order.
So Jesus and his parents went up to Jerusalem to
 present him to the Lord.
The Holy Spirit blessed a very special man, Simeon,
wth the news that he would not die
until he had seen the Lord's Christ.
Through the power of the Holy Spirit,
he knew when Jesus came into the Temple.
Imagine Mary and Joseph hearing
this man talk about "their baby."
He will be "a light for revelation
to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel."
Faithful Anna, the prophetess,
 was also rewarded with the
knowledge that this baby was "the One."
We live our days in the land of pretty ordinary.
This may have been a clue to
these new parents that their journey could be a bit different.
I always wonder just how they integrated
these words spoken over this tiny infant.
Just as Simeon and Anna had eyes of faith to see this gift,
so did his parents.
Lord, may you help me to have eyes of faith
 that bless the Lord.
May I always
give thanks for this baby-
given as a light to the Gentiles- to me.
