Jonah is Two!

Mr. Jonah is BIG And TWO!
HE LOVES BOOKS.
There are always helpers
to help try out the new things.

OH LOOK Balls!!!
Another favorite for Jonah.
Papa- always a great guy to hang out by.

Balloons always make it
 an extra special celebration.

Books and a game, dinosaurs, balls,
crayons and coloring books.
Poke a Dot books are a lot of FUN!
Jonah is not too sure about
 what is happening next.
OK,  looks like something good
to eat so maybe this is gonna be alright.
Happy Birthday little guy-

Worship into the Week-Widen Your Hearts

Worship into the Week-

2 Corinthians 6

Paul is speaking to the Corinthians and

he is not on the best terms with them.

He speaks truth, and that isn't always

 something that makes you popular.

Paul has a resume that would make any

 of us shrink with incompetence.

But, he points to his grace-laced

relationship with His heavenly Father

and speaks with the nuance of a father saying-

"Widen your hearts."

We certainly can learn from this servant

that work is challenging,

but we need to strive to be without blemish

as we live as servants of God.

How thankful that we can come as we are,

and that the power of the Holy Spirit

moves us to be Mission Minded.

Worship into the Week- Good Courage

Worship into the Week-
Epistle Reading- 2 Corinthians 5:1-10
Our Heavenly Dwelling

Our earthly dwelling- body-
takes up so much of our focus.
These days as I deal with the recovery
of a total knee replacement,
I find myself pretty much focused
on body repair and body strength.
We are failing here in this tent,
and even with progress,
I am mindful that this body is failing.
How blessed that I have this gift-
eternal life-
 that pales everything here.
So on an extra hard day,
I am of good courage.
 I am walking by faith-
 not by sight
and I have a house in the heavens.

Worship into the Week-Eternal Glory

Worship into the Week- Epistle Reading
2 Corinthians 4:13-5:1
I have centered on this part of the reading:

15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends

to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.

16 So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away,

our inner self is being renewed day by day.

17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing

for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,

18 as we look not to the things that are seen

but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient,

but the things that are unseen are eternal.

SO DO NOT LOSE HEART.

In days of overwhelming challenge- a good thing is happening.

We are being renewed.

Made new for the eternal glory to be ours.

Keep your heart eyes focused on the unseen, the things that are eternal.

That goes against the tide of earthly desires, and expectations- don't waiver.

And rejoice as this great grace of God extends to more and more people.

We welcome them all on this journey here,

as we are on the way to our building from God in the heavens.

Worship into the Week- Not Held by Death

Worship into the Week-
Loosing the Pangs of Death

Acts 2: 14a, 22-36

Peter speaks here to the people of Jerusalem at Pentecost.

So much happening here for the disciples,

those who had witnessed seeing Jesus alive,

those still doubting and everyone in between.

Something has rocked what they know

of the world and how it works.

There is the sure thing of death

and now maybe not even that.

Could this Jesus have really

overcome the ultimate barrier?

What hope does that bring to them,

 to each of us?

As challenging days sift by on the calendar,

it is noteworthy that this benchmark of ultimate surety

as been reclaimed.

This Jesus could not be held by death.

He has loosed the pangs of death.

All things have to be reevaluated.

We are not Owned by death anymore.

Like David, we have been given this gift of life.

It transcends time, and changes EVERYTHING

here for us while on earth.
