Santa Roundup- 2025

Enjoying some of our favorite things-

the Santa and friends corner.

Most of the Santas are handmade.
Back in the days when I was doing craft shows,
we would trade our work.

Hand painted, stuffed, and totally unique.

This sweet angel keeps an eye out on the others.

I especially love all the Santas
coming to see the babe in the manger.

Quilted Santas in blue are a favorite.

Advent Pathway 2025

Advent Pathway for 2025.
This year I enjoyed reading- Grand Miracle-
readings from C.S. Lewis.
So good to connect his writings with Advent.
This has been an Advent tradition for me since 2011
and I really do enjoy the way it shapes and moves
the preparing for Advent.

Christmas Blessings to all of you!
Thanks for following along on this journey.
Here is the resource I used-

Toilet Paper Tube Ornaments

I started spotting the creations
on Instagram using toilet paper tubes.
I had to try it out and happened to have a
tree needing some decor.
A napkin is added with Mod Podge.
One napkin actually covered 6 tubes.
Then after drying, the tube is cut into 8 even pieces.
The folded edges are cut into 2 points
and then 4 flattened circles are
laced together to make one ornament.
Add string or ribbon and hang.

The cardboard circle is easy to work with
and they end up forming a 3D effect.
The napkin I actually brought home
from an event because I liked the color.
Can't get anymore economical for this project!
I decided to try it it with a Christmas plaid napkin
and quickly knew it would finish up this bare wreath.
Dried orange slices added the finishing touch.

I added some live cedar to the wreath and
love both the smell and the texture it adds.

These simple little ornaments are easy to make.
The process might be slightly addictive.
They add a sweet touch to this wreath in the kitchen.
Well, and you know I am still saving tubes
and on the look out for fun napkins!

Worship into the Week- Immanuel

 Worship into the Week-
Isaiah 7:10-17

In the section of Scripture God asks King Ahaz to ask for a sign.
Ahaz refused and felt that was testing the Lord.
God gives him a sign.
A virgin will conceive and have a baby
and will call him Immanuel- which means God with us.
King Ahaz of Judah is facing an invasion from Syria and Israel.
Isaiah is sent by God to bring a word of hope.
He will survive the alliance, but Ahaz show his lack of faith
and his inability to trust God.
Though there are the words of hope,
Ahaz also hears that Assyria will bring destruction.
Isaiah 7 both saves and condemns
and is tied to the Messianic message in Matthew 1:22-23.
He will be the King we long for and his return
will one day come in dramatic fashion
as He returns as both judge and savior.

There are many readings this week
and I have combined some of the journaling.

Worship into the Week- Hope for Restoration

Isaiah 35:1-10

The prophecy in this section of Scripture is about restoration,

 God's saving power and hope.

We see the vision of a wasteland that blooms

with an abundance of flowers.

The deserts will be green like the mountains of Lebanon,

Mount Carmel or the plain of Sharon.

The splendor of God and his glory will be on display.

There will be healing of body

and encouragement for the weary.

"Be strong and do not fear."

A great "highway of Holiness" will lead the faithful on

the way to return to Zion.

There is a new song coming with everlasting joy.

The sorrowful and desolate times will become a holy,

joyful place for the people of God.

This foretells the coming of God's kingdom with both

an invitation and a reminder that healing and restoration

 only comes through Him.

Worship into the Week- A Shoot Shall Come

 Worship into the Week-
Isaiah 11:1-10

These passages of Scripture are part of a Messianic prophecy
that describe a future king from the Line of David who will
bring justice and peace. This new leader will
"spring from the stump of Jesse",
and will have the Spirit of Lord resting on him.
This spirit will allow him to rule with wisdom,
righteousness, and a knowledge of God.
This will allow him to judge with righteousness and make good decisions based on truth.
Changes happen when this time comes into being
and the world is changed.
Animals that were enemies will live together in peace.
Advent brings this reminder of the humble king
from a shoot that will change time forever.
The KING that promises all of eternity for all of us.

Worship into the Week- Walk in the Light

Walk in the Light-

Isaiah 2:1-5

The Mountain of the Lord is a future vision where

this spot becomes the highest point.

It will draw all people to it for judgment and teaching.

They will disarm themselves and change the swords into plows

and spears into pruning hooks. Wartime will cease.

There is a plea for the house of Jacob

to walk in the light of the Lord.

God is calling them to give up their idolatry and sinful ways.

Walking in the light  of the Lord means to follow

 His commands and teachings.

"Light" means centering our living under

God's guidance and instruction.

Lord, help me to focus on the way my days unfold

that there is the brightness of your closeness and Light.

Amen.
