Embraced Gift- Advent 16
The babe that comes
to meet us in the margins.
Embraces the ones who don't measure up,
fall short,
and keep on making
the same mistakes over and over.
And that is me.
In this broad view of humanity-
we sometimes spike cynic views
with small expectations.
Or perhaps, we expect miracle works,
and turn away disappointed when an
answer is "not now".
"May all kings fall down before him,
all nations give him service.
For he delivers the needy when they call,
the poor and those who have no helper."
Psalm 72: 11-12
And this Psalm meets us all-
because we are all needy.
Lord, meet me this Advent
in the areas of blatant need
and those I cannot even see.
Let me rest- embraced.
