The WORD made flesh,
who dwelt among us.
And by the gift of the LORD'S SUPPER,
we are TOGETHER with Christ.
This meal is the reassurance of the promise,
that we live here in "a little while".
A reminder of the real presence
of the one who came to earth.
And time melts away,
as we live in expectation-
till we see Him again.
Together we wait in HOPE.
"A little while, and you will no longer see me,
and again a little while, and you will see me."
(This was a tapestry that I remember
growing up that my mom displayed
on the cedar chest at Christmas time.
It hangs in a stairwell
in my home in Advent preparation.)
