Tending the Flame 2016

We gathered in Glen Allen, VA. this year
at Virginia Crossings for
Tending the Flame.
Here- Rev. Dr. Art Scherer is privileged
 to introduce our Conference
speaker for this year- Rev. Keith Anderson.
Pastor Art was Kevin's Confirmation teacher.
Pastor Keith is the author of Digital Cathedral-
Networked Ministry in a Wireless World.
It was one of the books used for my research
with social media and connecting pastor's wives.
 Pastor Keith shared innovative ideas
for getting out of the walls
of our church buildings and into the neighborhoods.
For the first time we had a
Creative Faith Center
 at Tending the Flame.
Visual Faith tools for all ages.
There were reference books for sale
 and some supplies.
All sorts of materials were "on hand"
for trying in
Bible margins,
as well as all sorts of Faithbooking.

Pastor Keith reminded us -
that ministry is relationship.
Digital ministry is relationship.
We need to tell the stories
of what we are ALL learning
in this endeavor of being TOGETHER-
in the digital world and in real life.
For the sake of those
who do not yet know Jesus.
