Advent Manger Walk

                            A favorite Advent activity

is to go the the National Cathedral

and see the Manger sets and Nativities.
This year it is simply
a walk around the house.
Old favorites gather.
Some are set out to be "safe"
from hands of inquisitive toddlers.
(and many need to move to higher ground)
All the little figurines gather to tell
the story of this Christmas Season.
A Child is born!
He comes for you and for me.
This set gets rearranged many many times.
A very fragile and tiny nativity
that has somehow managed to be in one piece.
My friend Bonnie made both the newspaper tree
and the Holy Family in the Ball jar.
This handmade porcelain set
is probably a favorite of mine.
Simple. Delicate. One of a kind.
Thanks for stopping by
for this "manger walk" at home.
