Romans 8:18-27 Extraordinary Hope
Paul makes sure that the believers hear that
the current sufferings
will not compare to the glory to come.
The ereated world has fallen into disarray because of sin.
The decay, evil and hopelessness pervades all of the earth.
This makes us yearn for the transformed
world when it is restored.
Christians, too, "'groan inwardly" as they wait and wait.
We are eager for the changes to come in the future.
Biblical hope is defined by Paul as a confident, patient,
and eager expectation for what is not yet seen.
But, we have the secret weapon of the Holy Spirit
that helps believers to pray,
when we don't know what or how to pray.
When we are steeped in our weakness,
we have the intercession of the Holy Spirit
that intercedes for believers with
"groanings too deep for words,"
that aligns these prayers perfectly with God's will.
We have such wonderful encouragement
in an uncertain world
because we have extraordinary HOPE.
