Bible Marginalia- The LORD is Faithful

                                                                                                                                                                              J. Meier

The LORD is Faithful.
He will Strengthen and Protect You.

It is about what the Lord does for us.

Hanging out with daughters this weekend.
All home for a friend's wedding.
They have all asked for a Journaling Bible.

Having fun seeing what oldest did today.
I like this so much- just gonna copy it.

Bible Marginalia- Bless You and Keep You

#27 in the Bible Marginalia Series

Sometimes in weary days
it is good to simply rest in a blessing.
As I have aged,
I realize how much these words
have touched my life
in the uplifted hand of a pastor
at the end of a worship service.
What a joy that for most of my life-
 this blessing has been spoken
 to me by my husband.
These words have often been
the fuel to go out into another week.

Sometimes in prayer
we are lost for words.
Then speak blessing.
Simply bless.

Creative Haven- Northern Virginia

Sharing the work of Beth Skipper
who joined us at Creative Haven this last gathering.
We met in the Journaling Bible
 online community on Facebook.
She lives in the Northern Virginia region.
 Getting together was doable.
So a few messages back and forth and it was planned.
"Come and join the group that is gathering in my home!"

We have been gathering with neighbors
and friends for over three years now.
Stations set up around the house.
Veteran creatives and interested newbies
 are welcome too.
At work in the studio-
bring what you want to work on,
and use any of the supplies on hand here.

What color marker or pen do you want?

A spot for some fun fall crafting-
 a pumpkin or two.

Some Bibles to view
 and grab a name tag.
So we can call everyone by name.

Watercolor station and making Bible tabs.
(sorry for the blur)

Stamping center-
make a Thanksgiving card or two.
Or use any of these materials
for what you are doing for Bible Journaling.

Mary Moore has been experimenting
 with making her own rub-ons.

Great to have a resident expert to help us out.

Deshua's beautiful hand lettering.

 The youngest ladies in attendance
 are 3rd and 6th graders-
coming over to hang out with mom.

It is a Creative Haven-
for neighbors, friends, and
new friends.

Come and make what is your
"heart happy" for the evening.
Visit, and sip some hot apple cider.
Learn a new technique.
Be encouraged to "keep going."
And most of all-
 GIVE THANKS,
for all He has gathered
RIGHT HERE.

Bible Marginalia-A Loyalty Pledge

#26 in the Bible Marginalia Series

I attended worship at a
 neighboring church this weekend.
For a very special celebration.
The Baptism of Jacob Edward Loftus.
Parents- John and Casey Loftus
Grandparents- Greg and Lee Berson
Jay and Debbie Loftus

The pastor who had baptized mom- Casey-
was visiting for the 50th Anniversary
at Messiah Methodist in Springfield, VA.
Ruth 1 was one of the readings
 for yesterday in this service.

Bishop Chamberlain was able to participate
 in the Baptism for Jacob.
 I like the Loyalty Heading-
 a Loyalty Pledge.
The baptism of our children is a reawakening
 of our own Baptismal Grace.
It is reminder of this HIGH CALLING
 that we have as
Christian parents.
This MOST IMPORTANT job-
of seeing our Children Home-
 to heaven.

It is a covenant among faith-people
 in community
to do WHATEVER it takes
to help teach this child to walk
in "THE WAY."

May the Lord grant
rich supplies of all grace,
and all LOVE in this young family
 that YOU claim.

And Happy Birthday today-
November 3 to mom Casey.

November Grace-The Best Yes

“Whenever you say yes to something,
there is less of you for something else.
Make sure your yes is worth the less.”
Lou Giglio

In this approaching season
of many requests,
long to-do lists,
and all the
"things we'd like to do",
sit a spell.

Pray for guidance.
Have a family meeting.
Choose Wisely.
Every yes is a
 no to something else.
Do the IMPORTANT
things first.
Do the SOUL-THINGS
first.

Move into these next
 eight weeks of 2014-
with your very best Yes.

All Saint's Day- The Best is Yet to Come

 I often need visual reminders.

Then the King will say to those at his right hand,
‘Come, O blessed of my Father,
inherit the kingdom prepared for you
from the foundation of the world."
Matthew 25:34

"Heavenly comfort is not comforting at all.
Heavenly comfort, rather, is truth,
which blows away human fantasies that we can live forever,
control everything, or fake our lives before God."

-Sara Miles, City of God: Faith in the Streets

All Saints Day--
 where we live imperfect
under our own strength
 and endeavors or worth.
Where we live as saints-
because of what Jesus
has done for each of us.

Sinner and Saint living.
Until our future home-
is ours-
 as promised.
 Pur home- prepared.
For me- sinner AND saint.

The Way, the Truth, and the Life

14 “Let not your heart be troubled;
you believe in God, believe also in Me.
 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions;
if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again and receive you to Myself;
that where I am, there you may be also.
4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him,
“Lord, we do not know where You are going,
and how can we know the way?”
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Bible Marginalia- Streams of Living Water

#25 in the Bible Marginalia series

Dear heavenly Father,
because of your grace to me,
streams of Living Water
will flow out of my heart.
Lord, I believe.
You are the Light of the World,
I give thanks that you change the landscape of my life
with YOUR light, that I may be the light to others.
