Mark 10:46-52
Jesus Heals Blind Bartimaeus
A blind man in Jericho had heard
the stories of a man named Jesus.
Where Jesus went there
were often large crowds of people
who gathered around him.
They had also heard the stories.
Bartimaeus was a desperate man and
he didn't have anything to lose to cry out-
'Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Those around him tried to quiet him.
But, Jesus heard him and simply said,
"Call him."
Then they rallied round Bartimaeus and told him
to "take heart, get up, he is calling you."
No need to tell him twice.
He jumped up and went to Jesus.
Jesus asked him,
"What do you want me to do for you?"
Jesus said to him,
"Go your way; your faith has made you well."
And IMMEDIATELY his sight was recovered
and he followed Jesus on the way.
Now, I would imagine there was some
rather interesting conversations
on that journey to Jerusalem-
like the color of trees,
how cool to actually see faces,
and what about this Jesus who gives out
mercy like cups of water.
