Worship into the Week-

Psalm 41- A Psalm of David

v.1 "Blessed is the one who considers the poor." ESV

v.1 "Oh the joys of those who are kind to the poor." NLT

v.1 Blessed are those who have regard for the weak." NIV

Kind of stopped me right there this week.

I have been wondering alot about what is happening in the world,

and what makes God sad about how the poor and weak

 are being treated. Nothing new in the scheme of things

 of the generations but it seems heightened to me.

I often think that my practice of spending time with

 Worship lectionary readings

 is actually "Worship into the Weak."

I am the weak one often in faith, compassion, patience,

and generosity. 

I need this time in the Word, because I am weak.

Then I think of those who don't have God's Word, 

or a Bible. They might be in a place of harm 

and they are just trying to survive.

I think that a bit better understanding of my weakness

 would help me be more understanding of the others 

who are weak and poor.

Lord, be gracious to me that I may see all those poor in heart,

 and spirit, and life necessities, and be moved to reach out, 

encourage and give.
