Nothing lifts the spirits for
Spring anticipation more
than a walk through the
Conservatory at Biltmore Estates.
The Conservatory designed by
architect Richard Morris Hunt
is a glass roofed building that nurtures
exotic orchids, ferns, and palms.
The vista is punctuated by an amaryllis
here and there or a begonia.
Leaf contrasts and bark textures
lead to a delightful walk through the indoor space.
Biltmore House and Gardens
built by George Vanderbilt
opened on Christmas Eve, 1895,
after six years of construction.
