Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand
(plus women and children)
Matthew 14: 14-21
A story of need and fulfillment.
Jesus had gone away to a desolate place
and the crowds found him.
When he came ashore and saw them,
he had compassion and healed their sick.
In this "desolate place" in the evening
they found themselves with lots of hungry people
No provisions in stock and Jesus tells them-
"you give them something to eat."
The offered fish and loaves
proved to be more than enough
after Jesus blessed them.
The crowd ate and were satisfied,
and there was even left overs.
They had seen that a Little Goes a Long Way.
Jesus is performing miracles
in front of many people.
They see the power,
even if they can't understand it.
Jesus still performs miracles today.
Lord, let us see them and acknowledge you.
Let us be thankful.
