Isaiah 56: 1, 6-8
Blessings for All Nations
This is the call for God's people
to practice justice and righteousness.
It is time to welcome outsiders-
like the foreigners-
into a covenant community.
The community was struggling with figuring out
where they belonged and often found themselves isolated.
It was time to move beyond the ethnic and
physical boundaries so that inclusion was based on
faithfulness rather than ancestral lines.
We too, often limit who is included
in our own communities.
We have barriers seen and unseen for inclusivity.
Not much has changed across the generations.
But, we see that the LORD desires a house
of prayer for all
nations and all people.
Let our mindset be this heart of welcome.
