Deuteronomy 7:6-9
God keeps His promises for a thousand generations.
Here we see that it isn't about the moral greatness of Israel
that connects to the covenant promise.
It is the grace of God that calls them to a special
relationship. Moses reminds them that they are a holy,
treasured possession to God.
It is not because of their greatness of size or strength
as a nation, but because of His unconditional love.
This is the God who keeps His promises.
Thi si the God who is faithful to the oath He made
to their ancestors in Egypt.
Even on our worst day of behavior or thinking,
we are still His treasured possession.
My failings do not disqualify me from the promise.
What a great reminder on a challenging day.
We are a great treasure.
We have a great treasure.
