Worship into the Week- Were You There?

 Worship into the Week-

 Job 38:4-18

The Lord challenges Job

and answers him from a whirlwind

as He shifts the focus from suffering to divine majesty.

He asks Job where he was when He laid

the earth's foundation, and created the world.

The LORD points out that the stars sang

and angels shouted for joy long before humans existed.

There is a distinct gap between the wisdom of God

and the understanding of the human mind.

Just as Job can't command the light,

neither can he plumb the depths of the ocean.

His skills become more puny as the time goes on.

You just can't out God - God.

God doesn't answer the complaints that Job has but,

instead moves the main point from human pain to

the complex order of creation.

Job is humbled by the interaction and

is moved to a silent awe, with no recourse but repentance.

His only way forward is to just trust God.

If only we could see this is the first place to start,

rather than the outcome of our ranting and raving!

It is quite amazing that God puts up with us at all.
