Worship into the Week- Salvation Forever

Worship into the Week

Isaiah 51:1-6- A Call to Trust the LORD

A challenging time for the Jewish exiles in Babylon.

Isaiah has a message of comfort and hope.

He urges them to remember where they come from

and to put their trust in God's eternal salvation.

Things looked futile for Abraham and Sarah

as a childless couple, yet they were blessed

 with countless descendants.

The barren wilderness would become

 like the Garden of Eden.

All the things on earth vanish, get used up,

or simply fade away.

But, the LORD places before us

the gift of the eternal things.

Salvation and righteousness last forever.

There is nothing that will take that away.

That is good news for us as exiles

 in this world now.
